12 portions

- 2 cups self-raising flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 60 gram Flora Original Spread
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1/2 cup chopped dates
- 1/2 cup reduced-fat milk
- 1 tablespoon reduced-fat milk for brushing
- Pre-heat oven to 210°C and line a baking tray with baking paper.
- Sift flour and baking powder into a bowl. Using your fingertips, rub Flora into flour until mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. Stir in the sugar and dates. Using a round-bladed knife, stir in the milk and mix until the mixture forms a dough. Toss mixture onto a lightly floured board and knead lightly. Roll to 15mm thickness and cut into rounds with a scone cutter. Place scones close together on prepared baking slide and brush with extra milk.
- Bake for 15 minutes or until the scones sound hollow when tapped. Serve spread with extra Flora.
