Ingredients

  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tsps gingerbread spice
  • 1 tbsp lemon peel
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsps rum
  • 150 g FLORA Block Salted
  • 200 g sugar beet syrup or molasses
  • 200 g brown sugar
  • 200 g ground almonds
  • 400 g gluten-free plain flour

Nutritional Guidelines (per serving)

(Nutrition information is calculated using an ingredient database and should be considered an estimate.)

Instructions

  1. Put FLORA Block in pieces with the syrup and sugar in a saucepan and heat while stirring until the sugar has dissolved. Transfer to a large mixing bowl and allow to cool.
  2. Then add almonds, 400g flour and the spices and knead everything thoroughly with hand mixer (possibly add a little more flour).
  3. Mix baking powder in a small bowl with rum and dissolve in it. Add to the dough and continue kneading until the dough shines and no longer sticks. Cover the bowl with cling film and leave to rest in the refrigerator overnight.
  4. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  5. Line a baking tray with baking paper. Roll out the dough on a floured surface, cut out stars and place on the baking tray. Bake in the hot oven for about 15 minutes and then carefully remove from the baking tray. Let cool on a wire rack. Sprinkled with icing sugar to serve.
